Sony's new VAIO L series is a concept all-in-one PC that marries both form and function that is guaranteed to appeal to a wide range of audience.

The merging of a powerful PC complete with a high-end 15.4" LCD display and stylish polycarbonate chassis makes it a must-have device, if only it were real. Embedded within the VAIO L series is a Sound Reality audio chip and a pair of 3W speakers to give you the best on-the-go entertainment experience possible.

In terms of hardware specifications, we are looking at a foldable keyboard and touchpad, Intel's Core 2 Duo T5600 1.83GHz processor, a 120GB hard drive, and 1GB of DDR2 SDRAM. When will this be available to the masses? Only time can tell, so you might as well start saving up for one today. IMHO, it looks lost in No Man's Land, stuck between the ephemeral world of a notebook and desktop.

Today in London in a somewhat understated fashion, Sony released details of its latest Vaio notebook range: the TZ series, aimed predominately at the higher end of the market.

Cast in carbon fibre and sporting an Intel Core 2 Duo U7600 or U7500 processor, the TZ range features a 11.1in WXGA 1366 x 768 screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio. It also sports a 2GB DDR2 SDRAM, either 80GB or 100GB hard disk and integrated dual layer DVD±R/RW RAM optical drive.

Weighing in at 1.19kg, they also ship with an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950, Windows Vista and 802.11 a b g, Bluetooth. Pricing details however, were unavailable as was the actual date of availability

We've already seen that the Asus Lamborghini VX2 is a highly desirable piece of kit, but it just got better...

Despite no official confirmation from Asus itself we know that its flagship notebook is about to receive the Santa Rosa treatment. Consequently, all the benefits of the new platform including a second generation 'Merom' Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, NAND flash memory caching, Dynamic Acceleration and wireless n connectivity will be present under that distinctive yellow casing.

On top of this we hear that while the 15.4in 1680 x 1050 resolution display remains the same, a T7700 (2.4GHz) CPU will be at its heart along with a Blu-ray drive, 512MB GeForce 8600M GT graphics card, 2GB RAM and a 5,400RPM 160GB HDD. Ports will include HDMI, e-SATA, ExpressCard and Gigabit Ethernet with the whole machine weighing just 2.8Kg.

The name of the latest Lambo laptop is also likely receive a tweak, being dubbed the 'VX2 S' – I can't possibly imagine what the additional letter could stand for... ;)

Obviously there is no word on pricing or an official release date, but given the swarm of Santa Rosa based laptops at this moment in time a June or July launch would prove the very definition of logic.

The new Asus Lamborghini will have the new release at the beginning of 2007 but Asus have not said if the new laptops will have Intel or AMD processors (cheeky), Sunny Han, director of marketing at Asus said “We have to discuss everything with our partner first,”.

The current Asus Lamborghini VX1 has features such as 15-inch display, Intel Core Duo processor, NVIDIA GeForceGo 7400VX graphics card that is with 512MB of video memory and a 160GB hard drive.
